Melaleuca Sends Products to First Responders in Los Angeles
On January 7 and 8, multiple wildfires broke out in Southern California and quickly spread due to high winds. Although firefighters immediately began their tireless efforts to contain the flames, it’s clear that the situation has only gotten worse. Without wasting any time, Melaleuca: The Wellness Company put together a variety of products to send to the fearless firefighters battling the blazes.
Additionally, Melaleuca has been reaching out to Customers and Marketing Executives affected by the fires to provide assistance where needed.
Melaleuca Products Help LA Firefighters
Products include Sustain Active Electrolyte Hydration to keep firefighters hydrated in the intense heat, Proflex Protein Bars to keep them fed and focused on their tasks, Koala Kubs Baby Wipes to clean off their hands and faces when needed, Energy Shots to help keep them going both day and night, and Activate-C Drink to keep their immune systems strong during this stressful time.
Helping Our First Responders Perform at the Highest Level
The products have been sent to the Glendale Fire Department and will be distributed to firefighters from that location.
The Melaleuca Foundation reached out to National Director 9 Brittney McLaughlin and her husband Kellen, who is a Fire Captain/Paramedic in the LA area and is currently doing all he can to save homes and lives. He has been a first responder for more than 15 years.
Melaleuca AP Manager Brandon Jolley, who is also a Fire Captain in the Shelley-Firth Fire District, was ecstatic to learn of the products being donated. “This will mean an awful lot to them,” he said. “You’re working long hours and burning calories, and you don’t have a chance to eat much of anything. The Proflex bars will help them quickly get some nutrition, and the Sustain will keep them hydrated so that they don’t become a medical problem themselves. I appreciate Melaleuca looking out for our firefighters. These products will help them work longer hours and give better service.”
“One of the Most Destructive Natural Disasters”
Though the smaller fires are being contained, the two larger fires, the Palisades Fire and the Eaton Fire, are still raging largely uncontained. The Palisades Fire and the Eaton Fire have burned more than 20,000 and 14,000 acres, respectively. LAFD Fire Chief Kristin Crowley called the Palisades Fire “one of the most destructive natural disasters in the history of Los Angeles.”
