Improving Education

Led by a CEO who paid his own way through school, Melaleuca knows full well the value of a good education and helps today’s young people have access to the best learning opportunities. Over the years, Melaleuca has provided college scholarships for disadvantaged high school students, supported countless youth through the 4-H program, and has hosted advanced technology camps at its global headquarters.

In 2012, the Frank and Belinda VanderSloot Foundation donated $2 million to restore the vacant, historic New Sweden Schoolhouse in Idaho Falls, which had sat unused and deteriorating for 60 years. The property and schoolhouse were renovated and the VanderSloots donated its use to the American Heritage Charter School.

The Frank and Belinda VanderSloot Foundation also made a sizable donation to the Horatio Alger Association of Distinguished Americans, Inc., a national nonprofit educational organization that assists disadvantaged youth pursue their dreams through higher education.
